I'm Adam Court. Australian currently living in Burgundy, France. Currently working for BAST as the Holistic Voice Therapy Tutor.
I grew up in a very musical family, where everyone played an instrument or sang, so sound and music have always been a natural part of my life. My journey into sound therapy began much later, at a festival, when I met someone who invited me to experience a sound journey. I loved it. I remember being struck by how completely sound could take my attention, and how quiet, calm and still I felt.
As I began working with sound myself, I became increasingly fascinated by what was happening internally. I noticed how much my inner dialogue normally dominated my attention, and how during a sound journey that noise would gradually fade into a distant murmur until it seemed to disappear as my attention arrived in the moment. It was as though the sounds created a wave of present calm I could rest in. I felt more connected to myself, while also experiencing something beyond my usual sense of self.
What I enjoy most now is discovering what is present for someone in that space. There can be a quality where time seems to slow down and we're simply "there". I particularly value that I'm not there to give someone an answer or fix anything, but to help create the conditions for them to discover their own capacity. And ultimately, I think what keeps me interested is simply the "moment", and what becomes possible when we truly arrive in it.
