How at home in yourself are you feeling or do feel otherwise? ‘Home, home again, I like to be here when I can’. Are you humming the tune now? It’s from Pink Floyd’s Time. It’s one of my favourite songs, and one that I find myself tuning into often. It’s the feeling that it evokes and it’s the place that the song takes me to-the home in me. In these modern times with all it’s demands and pressures and pushing and pulling, it can be very difficult to not get dispersed.Â
Being dispersed often results in us living on our nerve energy, and this over time frazzles us and burns us out. We can see it all around us, you maybe feeling this right now as you read this. And living on our nerves cannot be sustained long term, it really can’t. But when we feel at home in ourselves, it feels good, it feels right, natural and how it should be. There’s a sense of being in control and togetherness. It’s as if all the different parts of us smile and are happy.Â
We feel healthier. Maybe take a few moments, grab a pen and some paper and draw a line and at one of the line write Zero, and at the other end write Ten. Zero is low, ten is high. Now rate where you are in terms of feeling at home. And be honest with yourself. Being honest with yourself is important. Now ask yourself, especially if you rated yourself in the lower end of the line can you do something to raise the number and if so, what can you do?Â
Well, there is much that can be done. Meditations, Gong bath and Sound Healing, Qigong sessions and other relaxing practices can help, they really can. And accept that it’ll take work and effort, and it’ll take discipline and the maintaining the desire, the will, the want to feel more at home, and do you know what you may even like who lives there.
